Square 4 Solar launches energWISE to help North West businesses reduce energy costs

Fully funded service evaluates suitability for retrofitting Solar PV and delivers system specification

Warrington-based Square 4 Solar has launched energWISE, a new service that will help businesses take control of their energy costs while reducing carbon footprint. Fully funded for businesses across the North West, energWISE quickly determines whether commercial premises are suitable for the retrofit of Solar PV, and delivers a specification to address companies’ energy saving objectives.

Launched in direct response to the Government’s new energy bills discount scheme, which will reduce financial support to most businesses from April 2023, energWISE is intended as a lifeline to North West companies.

Adrian Thomas, Business Development Director, Square 4 Solar, explains: “Changes to the discount scheme mean many businesses are now facing huge financial uncertainty. With energWISE, we can help them quickly determine whether Solar PV is a viable option for energy generation. If it’s not, then there’s still time for businesses to put other strategies in place to protect themselves from spiralling energy costs.”

energWISE is an accessible route for businesses to professionally evaluate whether Solar PV is a viable route for energy generation. Where Solar PV is an appropriate solution for businesses, it gives them options to forward buy electricity and protect themselves from any future price rises.

As experts in commercial Solar PV, Square 4 Solar has extensive experience of designing, installing, and commissioning systems. Some want to achieve the quickest return on investment, others want to maximise consumption of the energy Solar PV generated. In the last 12 months, the Solar PV systems installed and commissioned by Square 4 Solar have generated approximately five million kWh of energy, which equates to more than £1.5m in financial savings and 937 tonnes of carbon*.

To be eligible for a fully funded energWISE evaluation, business premises must be based in the North West, have a minimum energy consumption of 75,000kw per year, and not currently have Solar PV installed.
